1. Name someone with the same birthday as you.
Earl Steele, my sister's first-- and to my knowledge, only non-sleazy-- boyfriend.
2. Where was your first kiss?
Same as Emily: First intentional, pseudo-adult kiss was with her, in my room, laying on the twin-sized mattress I kept on the floor. I thought the fact that I didn't feel the stereotypical "first kiss tingles/fireworks/spark" meant I was definitely straight, but it turns out, I'm never gonna feel that. Emily's probably the best kisser I've kissed so far, though. (Soft lips.)
3. Have you ever seriously vandalized someone else's property?
Not that I remember.
4. Have you ever hit someone of the opposite sex?
Guys are fun to hurt.
5. Have you ever sung in front of a large number of people?
When I was young, I assumed I'd be good at singing, because I wanted to be, and my father was, and I thought (for some completely naive reason) that my sister was, too. But then people-- Leigh Huston especially-- would yell at me for singing, so I stopped. Now that I'm older, more and more people have told me I'm good (weirdos). When I get in a mood, I sing unabashedly at work, and most recently Kevin, this totally awesome Jamaican guy who used to work with me, told me I had a lovely voice in some way that just tickled me.
Though, to shut up and answer the question...yes! Yes I have. I thought the answer was no, but one time, during winter carnival we were performing a "heroes versus villians" skit I'd written and starred in, and the music that was supposed to come on to cue a group of superheroes to come on stage didn't work, and everyone was confused, so I improvised, grabbed the mic, and rocked out to my own (somewhat pathetic) version of Smash Mouth's "All Star" for a few lines. People tell me it was impressive.
6. What's the first thing you notice about the preferred sex?
I don't really prefer one over the other. Women, it's breasts. Not intentionally, but my eyes definitely get pulled down to breasts any time they're even slightly exposed. My ability to control this reflex is less than a guy's. After breasts...eyes, probably.
In men, I'd go with eyes as well.
7. What really turns you on?
I used to know.
8. What do you order at Starbucks?
Starbucks is gross. The only thing I've ever had there is hot chocolate, and it was very bad. Throw a bone to the non-cofffee-drinkers, you overabundant pretention shacks.
9. What is your biggest mistake?
Taking Zack for granted.
10. Ever hurt yourself on purpose?
Once I cut myself to prove a point about not doing self-destructive things to someone I cared about. And I punch walls...like, all the time now.
11. Say something totally random about you.
I am wrapped in a comforter that used to belong to Zack.
12. Has anyone ever said you looked like a celebrity?
Thora Birch, when she was young. Coming out of "Alaska" at the theaters, a bunch of kids mistook me for her.
13. Do you still watch kiddy movies or tv shows?
Disney movies all the time. And Degrassi: The Next Generation.
14. Did you have braces?
Yep.
15. Are you comfortable with your height?
Yeah, that's the one dimension I don't yet have a complex over.
16. What is the most romantic thing someone of the preferred sex has done for you?
When I first told Jeff I loved him, it was online, and he didn't know how he felt, so the ball was in his court when I went to see him a few days later. We started out the evening normally, and then eventually, we got to *the* topic. He explained to me his thought process, and how he had come to realize that he felt the same way, and what I didn't know is that he had a remote control in his back pocket-- he had rigged it up so that when we had our first kiss, Tony Bennett's "I Left My Heart in San Francisco" started playing, out of nowhere.
I can't help but think that if our relationship had been more about doing things like that for each other instead of staying in the same fake-adversary groove we'd embraced as friends, it would have lasted longer, and been a better experience for us both.
17. When do you know it's love?
Too often. That's when.
18. Do you speak any other languages?
Not fluently, but I've been thinking about revisiting my french studies.
19. Have you ever been to a tanning salon?
No.
20. What magazines do you read?
Maxim, Time, and HOME, which the girl who lived here before me was subscribed to. I just got the last issue, though. :-(
21. Have you ever ridden in a limo?
It's nice to go through and answer, taking out her answers to replace them with my own, and realizing how much past we've shared. Limo for two proms, like her.
22. Has anyone you were really close with passed away?
No.
23. Do you watch MTV?
Lately I've caught a few episodes of "Room Raiders" because it's the only non-informercial on that late. But, hey, what happened to actually having music on music television?
24. What's something that really annoys you?
The increasing number of minutes cut from classic syndicated TV to make room for more commercials.
25. What's something you really like?
The sound of the rain hitting my trailer's roof-- it's so crazy loud, the first few times it happened, it freaked us out. Now, I don't know how I'll ever live without it when we move.
26. Do you like Michael Jackson?
I'm under the impression that he might have written a few songs I'd enjoy. One day, I'll look 'em up.
27. Can you dance?
I'm beginning to think that I can't, and that the confidence I used to have in my ability to was delusional.
28. What's the latest you have ever stayed up?
The two times I was out of work for more than two weeks, my REM cycle got so out of whack that I'd be awake for as much as three days in a row before I could finally fall asleep.
29. Have you ever thought that you were honestly going to die?
Maybe. I think about it a lot.
30. Have you ever been rushed by an ambulance into the emergency room?
No.
31. Do you actually read these when other people fill them out?
Read Emily's.
